Tipos:[Argentina] "An extremely handsome Asclepiadous plant, of which seeds were sent by Mr. Tweedie from Buenos Ayres to Mr. Murray of the Glasgow Botanic Garden, and to Mr. Niven, at Glasnevin Gardens, Dublin; in both which establishments they flowered in the summer of 1837. The plant is native of Tucuman, and will probably succeed well in a good greenhouse." J. Tweedie s.n. (holotipo, K 000196710).
