Herbs 0.3 m tall; branches glandular-puberulent. Stipular prickles straight, < 1 mm long or 1.5 × 1 mm. Leaves 3-foliolate; petioles puberulent, discreetly armed with slender prickles, 1.7–2 cm; leaflets ovate to elliptic, 2–5.7 × 0.8–2 cm, basally obtuse to attenuate, apically acute, petiolules puberulent, unarmed, 1–2 mm, margin entire, ciliate, surfaces densely puberulent on both sides, midrib and secondary veins puberulent, without prickles. Inflorescence of corymbiform racemes, terminal and/or axillary, 16 cm; floral bracts petiolate, petioles puberulent, 1 mm, blade ovate, 9–18 × 3.5–6 mm, basally obtuse, apically acute, margin ciliate, densely puberulent to glabrescent. Flowers with pedicels 14–17 mm, puberulent to glabrescent; sepals linear-triangular, 3–4 × 0.5 mm, acute, margin ciliate, densely puberulent abaxially; petals oblong-elliptic, 5–7 × 1.5–3 mm, basally contracted into a claw, claw 3–4 mm, apically obtuse, white, glabrous; nectary conic, inconspicuous fleshy, obsolete in fruit; filaments 13–15 mm, purple; anthers 2.5–3 mm; ovary fusiform, 3–4 mm, glabrous; style absent; stigma discoid, sessile. Fruits on a gynophore 12–15(–25) mm, fusiform, 2.5–4 cm × 3–5 mm, glabrous. Seeds suborbicular, 1.5 ×1 mm, longitudinally striate and minutely transversely ridged, cleft covered by a thin membrane connecting the claws, with a white aril attached to the membrane.
